Who are we ?

“Ireland’s most active genealogical society”
A society for anyone who is interested in genealogy, family history, social history, and related activities.
The strength of the Society rests with its community of members, and their willingness to work together on individual family histories, advice clinics, publications, lectures, social meetings, document storage, archival research, database creation and dissemination, scientific research, and campaigns for legislative change.

What we do

“Ireland’s most active genealogical society”

We meet several times each month – an evening lecture, and weekly chats, both currently online via Zoom to facilitate our members outside Dublin or Ireland, once a month the weekly meeting is open to all.

Members are kept informed through newsletters, websites, social media, an annual journal. The society serves the community through our advice centre and outreach activities and also preserve and publish genealogical records, and campaign for better access to genealogical records.
